A Little Walk

I had an appointment in Seattle’s University District last week. I had my camera with me, so I decided to walk home and see if I could get some shots. It was a beautiful day, but I didn’t get any great photos. Still, I thought I’d post them because I want to experiment with adding Google Maps to a post. Second warning – nothing too exciting in this post. (Maps didn’t work as planned first try. Thought I’d figured it out with the EMBED option, but I got an error. After some digging through WordPress forums, I found the suggestion to add a specific address for a nearby location, rather than say an intersection.)

I headed south from about 45th Street and Roosevelt. Turned east at 42nd Street after spotting some police and fire trucks. I got there about 11:10. The firetrucks were pulling away, and the police were speaking to an individual beside a car parked in the road. I spoke to a police officer who told me that a pedestrian had been hit. The officer didn’t think the injuries were life-threatening, but I haven’t heard any other details.

Headed southwest from there and crossed University Bridge.

Hit the side streets to get some shots. Discovered a beautiful little green space – Roanoke Park.

I warned you! Off to hit publish to see if those maps show up correctly.
