Another Anhalt

Another Anhalt

A few posts back I discussed Capitol Hill’s Loveless Building. In reading about the architect’s history and the building’s story, I hatched a vague plan to photograph some of the incredible Tudor Revival homes on Capitol Hill. That led me straight to Fred Anhalt’s work. In that same post I included some of Anhalt’s Belmont and Roy Street projects.

I’m apartment hunting right now on Capitol Hill. I’m grateful for being able to be in a position to look for an apartment in my favorite Seattle neighborhood, but I can be grateful and still indulge in a bit of house / apartment envy. I walk by this Harvard Street property almost daily. It’s another Fred Anhalt work, and it’s beautiful. The places I’m looking at do not have the same character. If anyone living in an Anhalt property is reading this and needs an apartment sitter for 12 months, do not hesitate to get in touch. I’m good with dogs.

A Harvard Street Fred Anhalt project, Capitol Hill, Seattle, March 2018. According to Wikipedia it is called the Borchert Company Apartment Building. Now I want to know more about the Borchert Company.
